COVID-19 – Extraordinary Challenge Proof-of-Concept Project

Due to situation regarding the urgency of the COVID-19 pandemic Palacký University Science and Technology Park (VTP UP) announces the extraordinary effectiveness of Proof-of-Concept (PoC) projects that are addresses to research topics related to this pandemic. Given the tough situation, the approval process will be accelerated.

The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic has decided within the GAMA 2 Program of Applied Research and Experimental Development and Innovation that it will be able to use pleasant projects to expand them. GAMA 2 project developers involved in COVID-19-related research will have priority support for their sub-projects addressing some other pandemics. VTP UP, as the project coordinator, hereby declares an extraordinary task focused on the given issue.

Those interested in supporting their research plan can include any postcard that is on the VTP UP website  VTP UP website. This time it is necessary to attach and justify how the project affects COVID-19.

When writing a project, it is necessary to take into account in particular:

• The project is directly related to COVID-19.
• PoC projects are focused on supporting R&D activities leading to commercial use. The results of these activities / research must have a high commercial potential and an existing market with a probability of application.
• All projects of scientific teams that are no longer funded from other sources and are aimed at obtaining a functional prototype, proven technologies, industrial legal protection or a commercial entity license can be supported.
• Wage costs are based on gross wages (basis and personal evaluation).
• Investments cannot be reimbursed.
• The interest of TACR, but the whole society, is the rapid deployment of the result in the fight against illness. The project should therefore be as short as possible, despite the higher costs.

All consultations regarding the completion of applications can take place online or by telephone by prior arrangement. The process of approving accept applications will speed up as soon as possible - after acceptance will continue to be evaluated and sent to the Council for Commercialization of UP for per-rollam voting. Then the selected project will be sent to TAČR for approval. It is promised that TACR will take two steps to ensure that applications are assessed and evaluated as soon as possible.
